Quiet, efficient heating with easy installation for social housing

Baxi has launched the Baxi Assure HP55 to give installers working on social housing projects an air source heat pump (ASHP), delivering high operating temperatures, leading noise performance, and simplified commissioning.

The Baxi Assure HP55 can be integrated with solar PV battery systems for optimised renewables use. It also supports Baxi’s ASHP control options and the Baxi ASHP Pre-plumbed Cylinder, reducing the need for onsite pipework and wiring. The controllers are OpenTherm compatible, making it simple for engineers to integrate controls with the system.

The Assure HP55 features outputs from 4–13kW, high-temperature capability up to 75°C at -10°C outside, and an A+++ efficiency rating at 35°C across the range and at 55°C for those up to 8kW. Noise performance is class-leading from 48dB(A) sound power ErP and uses R290 refrigerant with a global warming potential (GWP) of 3, aligning with low-carbon design expectations.

Each outdoor unit is supplied with an integrated expansion vessel, water pump and includes DHW and energy monitoring to help demonstrate system performance to social landlords.

The Assure HP55 uses a simplified wiring setup with just two cables from the outdoor unit – one for power and one for communication to the indoor unit to the ASHP Control. This supports a streamlined installation process.

When paired with the Baxi ASHP Pre-plumbed Cylinder, installers can use the built-in Bluetooth, giving easy access to the Baxi commissioning tool via the Baxi START App. Intuitive controls streamline setup, ensuring every component is correctly configured, saving time, reducing errors, and supporting optimal system performance. Onsite commissioning support from Baxi’s experienced ASHP engineers ensures compliant installations and gives installers added confidence, reassuring homeowners and landlords that their system is ready to run efficiently from day one.

Baxi’s latest ASHP comes with a two-year standard warranty, with the option to register for enhanced cover up to seven years (subject to contract agreements). Installations of the Assure HP55 allow registered engineers to earn Baxi Works points.

Rob Pearse, Residential Business Director at Baxi, said, “Our expertise in designing and manufacturing high-quality heating solutions, including the Assure HP55, means installers can offer solutions that match their customers’ needs while delivering energy efficiency and uncompromised comfort. Combined with our training and on-site support, the Assure HP55 paves the way for engineers to successfully add air source heat pumps to their offerings.”

For installers working in the residential housing market, Baxi has also launched the HP60 high temperature air source heat pump.
