Raw Charging has opened its first EV charging hub with commercial property group Landsec at a site in Chesterfield as part of a £24.5 million national rollout.
A total of 16 new ultra-rapid bays have been installed at the Ravenside Retail Park in the town, offering speeds of up to 150kW.
The shopping centre is ideally positioned for drivers to charge their vehicles quickly while they visit shops such as HobbyCraft, Asda Living, B&M Bargains, Pound Land, Currys, PC World, Next, Pets at Home, Pizza Hut, Costa and Bensons for Beds.
It is the first Raw Charging site to open across Landsec’s portfolio, with 1,000 new bays set to open before 2027 across 28 retail and leisure destinations.
The new sites include Bluewater – the largest retail destination EV charging hub in the UK – Gunwharf Quays, White Rose Shopping Centre, and Brighton Marina.
The 20-year partnership will also include a replace and upgrade programme, modernising legacy charging infrastructure that no longer meets current standards for speed, reliability, or accessibility.
These upgrades are expected to improve charge time, with some chargers charging a vehicle within a dwell time of 30 mins to 1.5 hours.
The network is accessible via contactless payment and all major EV charging apps.
Neil Broadbank, CCO, Raw Charging, said, “We are thrilled to launch our first EV charging hub with Landsec at Ravenside Retail Park.
“Our roll-out of EV chargers with Landsec is nationally significant, adding 1,000 new bays across the country before 2027.
“We are bringing reliable, rapid, and accessible charging to shoppers and look forward to welcoming drivers to Ravenside and to many more Landsec sites in the months ahead.”
