Aggregator REstore is broadening its market focus from large industrial demand response to also target the broader industrial and commercial market. The firm has hired former steel and power industry stalwart Bob Stonehouse to help drive business development.
Stonehouse was formerly procurement director at Sahaviriya Steel Industries following senior power generation roles at Sembcorp and the Redcar Power Station. Restore co-founders Pieter-Jan Mermans and Jan-Willem Rombouts said his industry expertise and understanding of the power markets would bolster the firm’s sourcing team.
UK vice president Louis Burford said Stonehouse “will complement our team through his vast energy network and specific industrial knowledge in chemicals and steel manufacturing. This will ensure that REstore continues to work closely with, and fully understand the businesses of our partners – building on our values to respect industrial conditions to minimise any impact to productivity when participating in demand response”.
