Smart industry and co-located manufacturing shows at the NEC

The biennial co-located events; Drives & Controls, Smart Industry Expo, Fluid Power & Systems, Plant & Asset Management, and Air-Tech Exhibitions – are running at Birmingham’s NEC (Halls 8, 9 and 10) from 10-12 April 2018, alongside MACH 2018.

New for 2018, is the inaugural Smart Industry Expo, where among other firms touting their wares, Schneider Electric will showcase its connected technologies. Alongside partners including Cisco, NetApps and Salesforce, Schneider Electric says it will explore how the Internet of Things is driving efficiency, productivity and competitiveness.

The Smart Industry Expo will also host companies including Festo, IFM, Universal Robots, Harting, Panduit, Sigmatek, Senseye, Codra, Exor and Applied Automation.

Smart Industry Expo aims to be one of the UK’s most comprehensive dedicated events focusing on the Fourth Industrial Revolution and transforming to a smart manufacturing era.

Natasha Sephton-Pike, regional marketing manager at Harting, explained why it is exhibiting at the event: “Smart Industry Expo allows us to interact and build relationships with engineers in this fast-paced expanding industry. As the ‘Internet of Things’ matures into the core of Industry 4.0, the demand for high quality, ruggedised networking devices and RFID (radio frequency identification) solutions is becoming increasingly essential. These are not only helping to gather, process and transmit higher volumes of performance data and control signals, but doing so across a cost effective, more widely available infrastructure.”

Drives & Controls Exhibition brings together suppliers of state-of-the-art equipment representing the multi-tasking culture of today’s design engineer, covering critical areas such as energy efficiency, machine safety, drives, motion control, robotics and automation and more under one roof.

GAMBICA and the European Transmission Distributors Association will again be hosting pavilions where members will be promoting their activities.

Air-Tech 2018 highlights current key themes related to air compressor and related technology from companies from around the globe. The event is supported by the British Compressed Air Society (BCAS), and is the UK’s only dedicated event for the compressed air and generators market.

Exhibitors at Air-Tech 2018 give visitors access to a wide spectrum of opportunities, services, strategies, and technologies. Exhibitors include: Hertz Kompressoren Ltd, Factair Ltd, Atlas Copco Rental, BAGLIONI  / Air-com, Huba Control AG, Mattei Compressors, Gardner Denver, Teseo, Kee Connections, Prevost, Sauer Compressors, Michell Instruments, Thomas Wright / Thorite Group, Ingersoll Rand, Silvent, Donaldson Filtration (GB), Pneumofore, plus many more.

Plant & Asset Management is dedicated to plant, asset, maintenance and works management engineers and directors, showcasing the latest in condition monitoring, CMMS, outsourcing/contract maintenance, energy efficiency, boilers/burners/combustion, handling and storage and more.

Fluid Power & Systems 2018 focuses on hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, together with products that facilitate better electro-mechanic system design and application for improved process automation, control, monitoring and analytics. Supported by the British Fluid Power Association (BFPA), Fluid Power & Systems gathers world-class companies to display and demonstrat the latest in mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment. Following the success of the The British Valve and Actuator Association’s inaugural outing at the Fluid Power & Systems exhibition in 2016, this year the Association will again be providing guidance, advice and updates to attendees of the show.
