Trane has announced the launch of the RTWF HT (High Temperature) water-to-water heat pump reinforcing the company’s ambition to standardise the industrial process heating sector. Built on Trane’s proven XStream platform, the RTWF HT delivers hot water temperatures up to 105°C and heating capacities up to 1,500kW.

The RTWF HT follows the successful commercialisation of the City RTSF HT, and is tailored for medium to high temperature applications, providing industries a path to transition away from fossil fuel-based systems to more efficient and sustainable operations. This latest addition further expands the company’s thermal systems portfolio, offering scalable production of advanced and standardised solutions with continuously increasing temperature ranges and unit capacities for decarbonising process and building heating and cooling applications.

“Our customers are increasingly seeking reliable, efficient alternatives to fossil-fuel based heat sources as they pursue their decarbonisation targets, supported by strong regulatory momentum,” said Erik Van Oossanen, Product Management Leader at Trane. “Waste heat recovery is gaining traction, but the integration of thermal management systems that combine heating and cooling, remains a big opportunity to improve the return on investment of decarbonisation. Trane solutions enable business owners to maximise energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions. With the introduction of RTWF HT, Trane is poised to accelerate the deployment of heat pump technology into the industrial sector, ranging a wide array of applications from food manufacturing to district heating.”

The Trane RTWF HT expanded capacity heat pump technology delivers hot water supply up to 105°C and heating capacities above 1.5MW per unit. Featuring an A1-classified refrigerant, R1233zd(E), with almost zero Global Warming Potential (GWP), the proven Trane screw compressor, and Symbio 800 controller, RTWF HT combines high efficiency, safety, and robust performance. Six standard models are available to meet a wide range of industrial hot water applications.

Transitioning to heat pump technology enables customers to achieve significant operational cost savings, improve energy efficiency, and reduce their carbon footprint. With a 5.0 coefficient of performance (COP) level, Trane RTWF HT offers a viable alternative to carbon intensive systems, helps companies reduce their scope 1 and 2 emissions, in line with company sustainability targets and EU industrial decarbonisation policies.
