Perigus Energy launches today, following the completion of Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners’ (CIP) acquisition of Ørsted’s European onshore business through its fifth flagship fund, CI V.
Perigus Energy looks to support the UK and Europe’s energy security and transition by developing, building and operating onshore wind, solar and battery storage projects in Ireland, Germany, the UK and Spain. Today, its portfolio delivers clean, home-grown and reliable electricity to power the equivalent of circa 600,000 UK and European homes, with five further projects currently under construction in Ireland and Germany.
Across Great Britain, the Perigus Energy team operates 82.4MW of wind and storage assets with offices in Edinburgh and London and a development pipeline of over 1.5GW covering wind and solar energy. Last month, Perigus Energy announced plans for Clean Air Solar Farm, a new solar farm in The East Riding of Yorkshire with an anticipated export capacity of 500MW and capacity to power around 160,000 homes under a joint venture with PS Renewables. This is in addition to One Earth Solar Farm, a 740MW proposal in Nottinghamshire, which is also being co-developed between Perigus Energy and PS Renewables.
Led by the Edinburgh office, Perigus Energy also recently completed public consultation on Woodcock Hill Wind Farm, a new Scottish onshore wind farm with up to 65MW capacity, enough to power up to 62,500 UK homes.
Perigus Energy has a total operational and under-construction capacity of 826MW, supported by a resilient commercial structure, combining government-backed supports schemes and corporate power purchase agreements (CPPAs). All existing contracts, partners and counterparties remain unaffected by the transaction.
TJ Hunter, Managing Director for the UK and Ireland at Perigus Energy, commented, “We’ve built a solid pipeline of onshore projects across all technologies in the UK, with one operational wind farm in Scotland, one battery project in England, and 1GW of solar developments underway. Our London and Edinburgh based teams have strong technical capabilities and a proven track record in developing and operating onshore renewable projects. We now look forward to leveraging this expertise alongside CIP and continuing to work with our partners in government, our supply chain, and local communities to bring forward our project pipeline to help the UK Government deliver its Clean Power 2030 ambitions.”

Kieran White, CEO of Perigus Energy, added, “Perigus Energy is a very exciting next chapter in a long running renewable success story which has evolved from the origins of an Irish farmer’s cooperative and a German family-run business. And so, while our name is new, our people are experienced, and our mission the same.
“The high volatility in international energy markets demonstrates clearly Europe’s need for secure, home-grown and green electricity. With Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners on board, we will enhance our delivery capability across our multi-gigawatt investment-ready pipeline spanning onshore wind, solar and battery storage. Together, we look forward to advancing renewables to power a secure energy future with care for both society, nature and our people.”
Headquartered in Cork, Ireland, Perigus Energy has over 200 people working on site and from offices in London, Edinburgh, Regensburg, Lauf, Potsdam, Essen, Hamburg and Madrid.
