E.ON has announced plans to add 42 new ultra-rapid EV charging hubs at six sites across Scotland.
The high-powered chargers will be installed in key locations near Dundee, Edinburgh, Stirling, and Dunfermline, providing reliable, high-speed charging options for both local commuters and tourists.
These chargers each provide up to 150 miles of range in 10 minutes.
E.ON has already opened its first ultra-rapid hub in Scotland – at Wellington Circle, Aberdeen – which features 12 ultra-rapid charging bays, including four designed to provide additional accessibility for disabled users.
In 2024, the company introduced 72 ultra-fast charging bays across England and Wales.
The latest of these hubs include Wales’s first ultra-fast public EV charging hub featuring 10 ultra-fast chargers, and at Selby, in Yorkshire, just off the A63 with six 300kW charging points.
E.ON has also installed about 8,000 home chargers and 2,000 chargers for small businesses, enabling more than 50 million miles of EV charging in 2024.
Dev Chana, Managing Director of E.ON Drive Infrastructure UK, said, “Our goal is to make electric driving seamless and accessible for everyone, and these new charging hubs are a significant step forward in Scotland’s transition to cleaner transportation. But this is just the start.
“E.ON operates thousands of charging points right across Europe and these new hubs for Scotland are the latest part of a bigger drive to expand our EV charging network across the UK, part of a far wider expansion across the UK and another example of our commitment to creating greener infrastructure across the country.”
