EO and Horizon to speed rollout of bus EV infrastructure

EO Charging has partnered with Horizon Energy Ventures (HEV) to jointly speed up the delivery of energy infrastructure projects for the UK’s public transport fleets.

With HEV’s support, EO will accelerate the deployment of its Charging-as-a-Service model, designed to simplify fleet electrification by providing an end-to-end solution that combines hardware, software, and maintenance into a single monthly fee – eliminating the need for upfront capital investment.

The joint multi-million-pound investment is underpinned by EO’s Charge Assurance platform, which actively manages operators’ energy and flexibility needs.

Through this new partnership, EO will bring multiple new Transport UK depots onto the platform.

EO has already been involved in electrifying many of London’s transport depots, working with partners such as Go-Ahead and Transport for London (TfL) to develop tailored infrastructure.

The work with EO charging is Horizon Energy Ventures’ first involvement with UK battery-electric bus infrastructure.

Richard Staveley, CEO, EO Charging, said, “We’re delighted to partner with Horizon Energy Ventures to support the transition to zero-emission fleet transportation.

“This joint investment will accelerate our Charging-as-a-Service model, offering fully funded solutions that make fleet electrification more accessible.”

David Freeder, Head of Investment at Horizon Energy Ventures, said, “We’re thrilled to have completed our first investment into UK eBus infrastructure, beginning in London, by supporting Transport UK on its journey towards a fully decarbonised fleet.

“We look forward to working with EO on this project, exploring new investment opportunities in the sector, and funding other fleet operators committed to the roll-out of EV charging and other low-carbon infrastructure – both in the capital and across the UK.”
