Zest has announced a partnership with TJ Morris, the company behind Home Bargains, to deliver new charging facilities at stores across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

EV charging is now live at Home Bargains stores in Sunderland, Newport, Carrickfergus, Ballymena, Cardigan, and Arbroath.

New stores with EV chargers are opening in Ashford and Leigh shortly with more to follow throughout the year.

Charging speeds range from fast to ultra-rapid, giving customers the convenience of topping up while they shop and supporting the growing demand for reliable EV charging in retail locations.

This partnership expands Zest’s already extensive retail footprint, which includes major shopping and leisure destinations such as Metrocentre, Merry Hill, Frenchgate and Chantry Place, as well as brands like Starbucks, Tesco, Spar and Co-op.

Leeds-based Zest is one of the UK’s fastest growing investor-operators of public access EV charging infrastructure, and works in partnership with local authorities as well as the real estate sector across the UK.

It is backed by the Government-sponsored Charging Infrastructure Investment Fund (CIIF).

Simon Reddish, Procurement Manager at TJ Morris, said, “We’re delighted to expand EV charging across multiple Home Bargains locations in partnership with Zest.

“This investment enhances the experience for our customers, making it easier and more convenient than ever to charge while they shop with us.”

Robin Heap, CEO at Zest, said, “Retail destinations play a crucial role in making EV charging part of everyday life.

“By working with forward-looking retailers like Home Bargains, we’re helping to remove barriers to EV adoption, and this growing partnership shows how charging can be both practical and accessible.”
