Jaguar Land Rover has installed 166 electric vehicle chargers at its Gaydon engineering centre.
The company is using 7kW smart charging stations from Shell-owned NewMotion. It plans to install more chargers at its other UK sites.
“We hope that by providing a network of electric charging points to staff and visitors at our Gaydon engineering centre we can help encourage the uptake of alternative fuels amongst our employees,” said head of e-mobility, Mick Cameron.
“It’s part of our commitment to act more sustainably – our UK facilities are already powered by 100 per cent renewable electricity and we believe the new charging points will help our employees to tread lightly on their daily commute.”
Jaguar plans to make hybrid or electric versions of all of its internal combustion engined models from 2020.
