Motor Fuel Group (MFG), the independent forecourt operator, is rolling out new ultra-rapid hubs equipped with 300 to 400kW chargers across London – a 30% increase in its network inside the M25.
The business will develop five EV Power Hubs at Morrisons store car parks in London, including sites at Borehamwood and Stratford.
Its Morrisons Borehamwood EV Power Hub is part of a £3m investment into the existing forecourt that will include a Burger King and Greggs, as well as an MFG Car Wash Centre.
The EV Power business already has a large network across MFG’s 150 London sites and the new and expanded sites will enable drivers to add up to 100 miles of range in 10 minutes.
MFG’s EV Power Hubs in the capital are equipped with seven bays on average.
Locations already open include St Pauls Cray, Bush Hill on the A10 and Leyton on the A112.
This latest phase of expansion is part of MFG’s wider £400m investment commitment into EV infrastructure by 2030.
The forecourt operator has already installed about 1,000 ultra-rapid chargers in more than 200 locations and is investing £170m upgrading its network of forecourts in 2025.
Martin Symes, director of EV at MFG, said, “London is a key focus for our EV charging infrastructure investment, as we continue to see high demand for reliable, high-speed charging across the UK but particularly in the capital.
“By expanding existing sites and bringing new hubs online, we are ensuring EV drivers have access to the ultra-rapid facilities they need, helping to make EV ownership more convenient and accessible.”
