Milence – the joint venture between Daimler Truck, Traton Group, and Volvo Group – has opened an HGV charging hub at the port of Immingham.

The facility, situated on the A180 with access to the M180, M18, and M1 motorways, features secure fenced parking, access control, camera surveillance, restrooms and vending machines.

Phase one of the development includes four high-performance CCS chargers, providing access to eight charging bays and offering a power output of up to 400kW.

The second phase will see the installation of MSC chargers.

Multiple payment options are available, including various mobility charge cards and bank cards.

Milence aims to have at least 1,700 high-performance charging points across Europe and the UK by 2027, and all of its charging stations use 100% green energy.

Anja van Niersen, CEO of Milence, said, “The opening of our first UK charge hub in Immingham marks a significant step in the UK’s transition to electric road transport.

“This strategically located site underscores our commitment to providing reliable and accessible charging infrastructure for the growing number of electric truck operators.

“This is just the first step in our UK expansion, and we are dedicated to working with all stakeholders to accelerate the shift towards a sustainable future for the transport industry.”

Peter Stephenson, Founder and Executive Chairman of Able Humber Port said, “The Milence charging hub at Able Humber Port is a vital asset in our drive towards decarbonising port operations and the wider region.

“We are proud to partner with Milence in this important initiative, which represents a significant advancement for sustainable transport in the UK.”
