Pod has partnered with Zapmap as a payment partner, simplifying the EV charging payment experience for users of its public network.
The firm’s network joins 50,000 other chargers across more than 40 networks already integrated into the Zapmap payment system, spanning on-street, destination and en-route charge points.
Zapmap users can now pay for charging quickly and easily in the app at more than 5,000 publicly accessible Pod chargers across more than 1,500 locations, including at Tesco supermarkets as well as key shopping, leisure, hotel and restaurant destinations throughout the country.
Users can add a credit or debit card and use it to pay for EV charging, from within the Zapmap app.
Drivers paying with Zapmap are also able to view their charging history, receive live status updates and download receipts to track their spending.
They can also use both Apple Pay and Google Pay on all devices that accept payment through Zapmap.
Barry Adley, Chief Operating Officer at Pod, said, “We are thrilled to partner with Zapmap to enhance the charging experience on our public network by giving drivers a new way to pay, testament to our mission to make driving an EV easy and accessible for all.
“This collaboration brings together two longstanding pioneers in EV charging, giving drivers trust and confidence that they have access to reliable charging when they need it on-the-go.”
Matt Lloyd, Head of CPO Networks at Zapmap, said, “Integrating Pod’s network into Zapmap’s pay functionality is a great result for both current and future EV drivers, delivering straightforward and accessible payment across one of the most extensive and widely used charging networks in the country.”
