Following the evolving energy landscape, including the governments increasing pressure on businesses to utilise energy more efficiently, in addition to Industry 4.0 driving demand for connected assets with real-time insights, it’s time that critical infrastructure was brought into the 21st century.
Due to the lifespan and critical nature of equipment such as high voltage distribution transformers, it is shocking that such assets remain isolated, both physically and digitally as improvements and upgrades seem to happen around them, still requiring manual and offline checks to be made to ensure the equipment is running optimally and as intended, often only on an annual basis. This method is becoming increasingly outdated and inefficient for businesses. In response to this, on 19 September, Powerstar will launch its super low loss amorphous core smart transformer, Powerstar SO-LO to market.
Its amorphous core means it is super low loss, and can provide a reduction in core losses of up to 75% compared to traditional CRGO transformers. Additionally, as a bespoke solution it can be customised to suit a variety of applications with numerous fixtures and fittings to deliver maximum value across a range of sectors, whilst meeting and surpassing the 2021 EU Ecodesign Directive standards set by the European Commission.
In addition to the benefits gained from its amorphous core, its remote monitoring capabilities provide visibility and insights into the transformer’s operations and performance, ensuring it operates optimally and identifying opportunities for further optimisations.
To mark the launch of Powerstar SO-LO, a launch event will be held at the Powerstar head office in Sheffield on Wednesday, 19 September, 2018.
The event will provide attendees with a complete understanding of the full capabilities of Powerstar SO-LO and the wide range of benefits it offers to businesses. Guests will be able to witness a live demonstration of SO-LO’s remote monitoring capabilities in addition to receiving a light lunch, presentations from industry experts, and a copy of the product’s specifications.
