Public sector energy users must prepare for change

The Energy Consortium (TEC) provides energy solutions to public sector organisations and is now regarded as one of the country’s leading proponents and providers of collaborative energy procurement, particularly to universities and colleges.

It is a full member of the Cabinet Office Collaborative Procurement programme, as well as other purchasing bodies and is committed to sharing best practice and cost saving advice in energy to a broad spectrum of public sector organisations.

Speaking at The Energyst Event, Richard Murphy, from the Energy Consortium, commented: “Energy users need to prepare for change and be open to change when it happens.” The biggest challenge for 2019 and beyond, he asserted, will be around climate change.

“In the education sector there is a lot of ground-breaking research underway that will have a major impact on carbon reduction and a climate change emergency has been declared by the Environmental Association for Universities and Colleges,” he continued. “We have a responsibility as consumers to make sure that research gets connected to delivery in education buildings, public sector institutions in general, and in our homes.” To view the exclusive interview, click here
