Raw Charging has opened an EV charging hub at Clarks Village in Somerset, with the addition of eight new chargers.

The new Raw EV charging station significantly upgrades the EV charging provision at Clarks Village, replacing the previous lower-speed 7kW chargers with four 22kW AC Standard Plus and four 50kW DC Rapid chargers.

Clarks Village shops include a mix of designer brands, high street favourites, cafés and restaurants, as well as landscaped gardens, set on the site of the historic former Clarks shoe factory.

The new hub is located in car park two at Clarks Village, in the north-west corner near to the outlet entrance.

It adds to Raw and Landsec’s growing national network, which is set to deliver more than 1,000 EV charging bays across 28 retail and leisure destinations, including Bluewater, Gunwharf Quays, White Rose Shopping Centre and Brighton Marina.

The 20-year partnership also includes a programme to replace and upgrade legacy charging infrastructure that no longer meets current standards for speed, reliability or accessibility.

Jason Simpson, CEO, Raw Charging, said, “Clarks Village is a well-established retail destination in the South West, and we’re pleased to bring reliable EV charging to the drivers who visit it.

“This latest hub is another step forward in our partnership with Landsec, showing how we’re bringing convenient charging to destinations of every size across the country.”

Mike Jones, Centre Director of Clarks Village, said, “The new EV charging stations are a welcome addition to Clarks Village, offering reliable and convenient charging to our guests while they shop, dine and enjoy everything the outlet has to offer.”
