SDCL partners with Schneider Electric to provide energy efficiency services across UK & Ireland

Sustainable Development Capital LLP (SDCL), a specialist energy efficiency developer and investor, has entered a strategic partnership with Schneider Electric. The partnership will provide decentralised power solutions to companies across the UK and Ireland, as part of SDCL’s Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) initiative.

SDCL’s EaaS initiative improves access to sustainable energy solutions for end users through a ‘subscription’ energy service  which removes  the need for customers to find up-front finance or operate their own energy supplies.

The partnership will primarily focus on servicing heavy energy users such as data centres, business parks, industrial sites and universities, at the point of use.

By deploying energy efficiency technologies, digital tools and microgrid solutions provided by Schneider Electric, the partnership will help enable businesses to achieve their sustainability objectives, take greater control over their energy costs and increase their energy security.

Jonathan Maxwell, CEO and Founder of Sustainable Development Capital LLP, said, “We are excited to be partnering with Schneider Electric to provide cutting-edge technologies and innovative financial solutions that are crucial for accelerating the shift towards a sustainable energy future for companies across the UK and Ireland. This partnership is strongly aligned with SDCL’s  intention to deliver a cleaner, more resilient energy landscape for companies and the communities they serve.”

Tim Meyer, Director, Investment & Development at Sustainable Development Capital LLP said, “This partnership with Schneider Electric represents a further step forward in our mission to make sustainable energy solutions more accessible at scale. Organisations that want an energy supply that is secure, cost-effective and meets their individual needs will be well served by this offering. By combining Schneider Electric’s technological expertise and SDCL’s investment experience, we will aim to deliver energy services that are lower cost, and more secure and flexible for our clients.”

David Hall, Vice President, Power Systems at Schneider Electric, said, “Our solutions are enabling the transition to the new energy landscape, driving energy efficiency through electrification and digitisation. We are delighted to partner with SDCL to bring these solutions to more commercial and industrial customers, helping them to manage their energy costs, and advance their decarbonisation journey.”
