Vauxhall has surpassed 100,000 battery electric vehicle sales in the UK, seven years after it launched the Corsa-e, its first full EV.
The 100,000th EV sold was a Grandland Electric 213PS Ultimate, delivered by Drive Vauxhall Nuneaton.
Key milestones in the brand’s electrification journey include reaching 10,000 EV sales in 2021 and 50,000 EV sales in 2023.
Mokka Electric remains its best-selling electric model, with more than 26,000 sales since its launch in 2020, closely followed by the Corsa Electric, with more than 23,000 sales.
To complement its electric vehicle range, Vauxhall launched the Electric Streets of Britain campaign in 2023.
The campaign invites drivers to register the need for on-street charging to be installed near them to help understand where the demand for infrastructure lies across the country.
Since the campaign launched, more than 13,000 streets across the country have been registered as needing on-street charging.
Data gathered through the campaign has been shared with charging providers char.gy, Connected Kerb, and Kerbo Charge to help inform future on-street charging deployments.
Eurig Druce, Vauxhall Managing Director and Stellantis UK Group Managing Director, said, “Surpassing 100,000 electric vehicle sales in the UK is a significant milestone for Vauxhall.
“From the revolutionary Ampera to today’s fully electrified car and van range, we have remained a champion of electric vehicles, and our focus is to continue making electric mobility more accessible and attainable for British drivers and businesses.
“This milestone reflects the progress being made in bringing EVs into the mainstream.
“Whether it’s our Electric Streets of Britain campaign, our pioneering pricing strategy and an electric option across our entire range, or building electric vans here in the UK, we are helping more customers make the switch with confidence.”
