Smart Charge has announced a new partnership with Digital Charging Solutions (DCS), expanding access to ultra-rapid EV charging across its network at Sainsbury’s locations nationwide.
Effective immediately, customers using an RFID card or mobile app powered by DCS – such as BMW Charging, Mini Charging and Charge myHyundai – will be able to seamlessly charge their EVs at Smart Charge stations, benefiting from ultra-rapid charging powered by 100% renewable energy.
To mark the launch, Smart Charge is offering 250 bonus Nectar points with every charge for DCS-powered customers who charge at any Smart Charge location until 12 October.
Smart Charge is Sainsbury’s ultra-rapid EV charging service, offering customers speed, reliability, and competitive prices with rewards.
It is fully owned and managed end-to-end by Sainsbury’s, providing 100% sustainable power for all types of EVs and for all drivers.
Launched at the beginning of 2024, Smart Charge now has more than 650 bays available at 79 Sainsbury’s locations throughout the UK.
It is also the first electric charging service to offer customers loyalty benefits from the UK’s biggest multi-partner loyalty programme, Nectar.
Emma Williams, Director of Commercial & Customer, Smart Charge said, “We’re excited to welcome Digital Charging Solutions customers to the Smart Charge network.
“This partnership reflects our commitment to making EV charging not only simple to use and reliable, but also rewarding and accessible to everyone.”
Lorenz Rein, Chief Commercial and Product Officer at DCS said, “We’re thrilled to partner with Smart Charge to make charging more rewarding, reliable, and accessible for EV drivers in the UK.
