Tesco has ordered 750 new Maxus eDeliver 9 fully electric vans, part of the supermarket’s plan to move to a fully electric home delivery fleet by 2030.
The order marks the largest single electric vehicle order to date for Harris Maxus UK, which is the sole distributor for the Maxus range in right-hand drive markets across Europe.
Deliveries will begin from February 2026, and the new vehicles will join the 232 Maxus eDeliver 9 models already entering service this year.
The chassis cab variant of the eDeliver 9 will be equipped with Solomon-designed and built bodywork with refrigeration systems from Thermo King and GAH.
Powered by a 204hp (150kW) electric motor and a 100kWh lithium-ion battery pack, the eDeliver 9 has a WLTP-rated range of up to 219 miles.
Rapid charging capability via a 120kW DC fast charger ensures minimal downtime by enabling an 80% charge in 45 minutes.
With a gross vehicle weight of 4,250kg and payload capacity up to 1,900kg, the chassis cab configuration supports a wide range of body options.
Driver and vulnerable road user safety is addressed through advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), while ‘Intelligence Onboard’ full telematics integration allows fleet management, driver analytics and real-time monitoring.
Rob Smallwood, fleet services operations manager at Tesco said, “Our electric home delivery fleet is an important part of our journey to carbon neutrality across our operations.
“Placing this order with Harris Maxus UK will help us on our journey to operating a fully electric home delivery fleet by 2030.”
