Plans have been submitted for a new service station next to the A63 in Brough, East Yorkshire, with 10 ultra-rapid 300kW EV charging bays alongside traditional refuelling facilities.
The application – currently under consideration by East Riding of Yorkshire – relates to land off Stanley Jackson Way.
If approved, it would deliver a modern services facility including a fuel filling station with shop, a dedicated EV charging hub, a drive-thru coffee shop, car wash and jet wash facilities.
The planned development, brought forward by Brookfield Property (Holdings), could create 31 permanent jobs and expand access to high-power EV charging infrastructure in East Riding.
Aziz Patel, director at Brookfield Property (Holdings), said, “We believe this proposal would provide a new and enhanced facility for Brough, a growing town which will benefit from more supporting facilities and infrastructure.
“As well as improving access to ultra-rapid EV charging infrastructure and traditional refuelling, the scheme would introduce new services and create employment opportunities in the area.
“We look forward to working with East Riding of Yorkshire Council and the local community as the application progresses.”
Casey Smith, senior planner at Lichfields, which is advising on the planning application, said, “The proposals would deliver a modern roadside services facility in a highly accessible location.
“Alongside traditional refuelling and driver facilities, the scheme would introduce ultra-rapid EV charging infrastructure that is currently very limited locally.
“The development would also support the local economy through new employment opportunities and additional services for residents and motorists travelling through the area.”
