Zest has worked with the Kennedy Centre, a retail and leisure destination in West Belfast, to deliver six new 120kW ultra-rapid charging bays for drivers.

The new facilities offer customers the convenience of topping up their vehicles while shopping, dining, or taking part in leisure activities.

Under the partnership, Zest has funded, deployed, and will operate the charging infrastructure.

Based in Leeds, Zest works in partnership with local authorities and the real estate sector across the UK.

The latest announcement follows major deployments at leading UK retail destinations including Metrocentre in Gateshead, Merry Hill in the West Midlands and Frenchgate in Doncaster.

Zest has also installed charge points at Time Square in Warrington and Chantry Place in Norwich – underlining its growing momentum in the retail and leisure sector.

John Jones, Centre Manager at the Kennedy Centre, said, “We’re thrilled to bring fast, reliable EV charging to our visitors.

“Sustainability is a growing priority for the Kennedy Centre, and this partnership with Zest helps us make a meaningful contribution to cleaner transport across Belfast.

“We know many of our customers are switching to electric vehicles, and these new charging bays make that journey easier and more convenient.”

Robin Heap, CEO of Zest, said, “As a popular, forward-thinking destination at the heart of its community, the Kennedy Centre plays a vital role in making the switch to electric easier for drivers.

“By deploying reliable ultra-rapid charging at the places people already visit to shop, eat and spend time, Zest is making charging convenient and accessible, helping accelerate EV adoption and deliver cleaner air for local communities.”
