Fludder: “Unprecedented growth opportunity for energy storage”

Energy storage giant, NEC Energy Solutions, has appointed Steve Fludder as CEO .

Fludder, a one-time global sales and marketing boss at Samsung Engineering and most recently CEO of lithium-focused clean energy firm Alpha-En Corporation, said it was “an exciting time” to join the company.

“The global energy storage market is experiencing rapid growth with an expected fifteen-fold increase in market size by 2024 to more than 45 GW,” said Fludder, suggesting NEC’s technology and delivery capabilities make it “well-positioned to capitalise on this unprecedented market growth”.

Fludder started his career at GE and spent almost three decades at the firm.

He led GE’s company-wide Ecomagination environmental business initiative which grew to $18 billion under his leadership and as President and CEO of GE Energy China in Beijing, he grew revenue ten-fold to over $1 billion in three years.
